As always, there is a good book about our topic: Time Management from the Inside Out, Second Edition: The Foolproof System for Taking Control of Your Schedule -- and Your Life We continued working on our different work projects, Krystal and Blye joined in, we got some background music and closed shop shortly after 3 pm. On Tuesday 2/12 we met for our weekly meetup at Uptown Espresso. Betsy, Wendy, Christine were joined by Deborah for the first time. Our topic this week was Personal Development. We shared our notes. Kelly STRONGLY recommends 'Now, Discover Your Strengths' and found it to be incredibly helpful! Deborah recommends 'Please Understand Me: Character and Temperament Types'.There is a Strength Finder online for $9.99 to discover your dominant strengths and learn how your "signature strengths" help you excel. Recognize your unique traits for better performance and higher engagement. We also talked about our Myer-Briggs personality types. If you look for free workshops and mentors you can find both on Score.org. We also briefly talked about founder dating. Staying on task isn't always easy in the home office. A couple of coping strategies we discussed: - list with the most important tasks for the day - handwritten top 3 - tasks done by mid-day - keeping time sheets - using personal assistents - setting personal and professional goals - dividing goals by long time and short time. Also new this week, we established our LinkedIn Group 'West Seattle Coworking' adding 17 members and a couple of discussions. If you haven't joined yet, please do. We will use it one of our main communication channels and discuss some ideas. This weeks meetup had a group of regulars: Kelly, Jane, Betsy, Jason, Wendy and Christine. We chatted away and ended up talking about apps we like and use. We also talked about establishing a online group to share resources and communicate to each other. In the past we couldn't agree on a platform like Facebook, Yahoo or Google that everyone would use, but today we found a solution: LinkedIn. We will set up the group in the next couple of days. No major developments on space. |
