Talked about modern economy and the value and perception of technology as an intangible thing in relation to the tangible world. Are we creating another bubble? Will we have to reset soon? Or is there a real benefit and value? Discuss.
Some technology simplifies the tangible life and reinvents interactions. Social media opens possibilities to interactions and replaces time spent with different ways of social interactions, like meeting in person or going to the movies, reading newspaper or watching TV for entertainment. Humans still have to adapt to smart phone use and media use in general, but also always go for convenience in the end (Idiocracy just might be our future reality). Some of us want to escape the neediness of technology and find a healthy balance by craving a job away from the screen for at least part of the week. Part of our 'panel' today was Henry (Game Designer & Entrepreneur) an expert in virtual realities), Alice (Freelance Science Educator), Stefan (Entrepreneur & Design Firm Owner), Doran (Web Developer), Christine (Social Entrepreneur) and Chris (Software Developer). Alice looks for companies interested in improving internal communications by using her corporate training based on science-based improv. She can help find your way how to say what you need to say, how you can give awesome presentations and really engage your audience. Contact Alice for more info. Christine needs some Alpha Tester for the newest version of her freestuff-platform Stuffmapper. Also visit the beautiful and educational Bee Garden in High Point and join us for one of the upcoming Hive Demonstrations. We also talked about transitioning out of outgrown roles and work positions. Stefan used the book 'Find the perfect work' and Christine 'Do more Great Work' to get behind a better professional. Some of our visions were creating a nature sanctuary to recover from the overstimulating demands of the city, opening a bookstore in Italy or getting a monthly paycheck with out or doing just part of work. Great ideas, right!?
